i've seen their website a long time ago, and i was wondring how is it that the Banaue Rice Terraces of the Philippines had never been in the running since the start? Yes, not so much foreigners knew about the Banaue Rice Terraces, but it is definitely a wonder! Very Huge compared to the other rice terraces of the world... really sad though that it has started to deteriorate now...even though it has been designated as a world heritage site.

by the way, almost every country has its own 8th wonder of the world...

those are mine

I don't believe that modern skyscrapers should be in the list of the wonders because they are not in the right propotion of the the technological challenge and the general scale of the project compared with the time of construction, not like some of the oldest wonders such as the acropolis.
I say those things even I'm obsessed with tall buildings -the modern skyscrapers...so know i'm being objective

It's quite confusing because if they had said that the new wonder should represent the new era, or the modern times, then I surely would have changed my choises...

I don't think it should personally, its not that good looking and not espeically unique. It was the tallest building in the world for a few years but many cathedrals have held that title and for me are more innovative and architecturally pleasing.
