Read before Posting/Creating New Threads
The posting on the Miami Sub forum has gotten out of hand lately and as a result, I will be reinforcing some of the forum rules a little more closely.
Keep these things in Mind when posting: 1. Do not Spam the forums. This includes intentional advertising as well as continuous "thoughts" posted within several minutes of each other. If you forgot to say something in your original post, please use the EDIT button to add to your original reply. From here on out, SPAM will be deleted or edited and may result in you being banned from the page. 2. Stay on the topic of the Heading. We title the threads for a reason; there is no reason why you can't post articles, ideas, facts, pictures, etc. in the appropriate thread. 3. Check to make sure a similar thread does not exist before creating one. Duplicate threads will be deleted immediately. 4. Do not attack or berate other forum members. If you have something personal to address with someone, Private message them. Many people come here for information on specific buildings, not to see who is mad at whom. Anyone caught insulting other forumers will face forum disciplinary action. 5. Post your sources and give credit to the news sources and websites where your information was received from. If you are posting your opinion, then say so, rather than trying to pass it off as facts. I appreciate you taking the time to read the above guidelines. If you have anymore questions PM me or refer to the NASF Guidelines above. I hope to keep the forum organized and well maintained so that we may all discuss Miami developments. |

i frankly am getting tired of the idiots that post on here without backing up stories with factual links to information.
also getting tired of people talking bad about cubans when infact much of miami is what it is becuase of cubans and all other nations that played an important role in its development. while i dont have an issue with other cultures i rather not hear about haitian gangs that dont exist or dominican economy which is no better then cubas and which supposedly is doing better becuase cuba is under the embargo. frankly i find most of these post are racist and a crock of shit and im outrage with the quality of the post on here recently i sometimes wonder where our moderators are becuase one has to filter through reading this crap. i understand that point of views and ideas will always come across but there are many ways of getting your point across with factual data then just talking out of your ass... i for one feel like abandoning this webpage and keeping my clasified info to myself instead of sharing with others and frankly had it not been for members like chuck or miaballinboi and yes even roark i would not be here posting today and much thanks to toucano who indeed managed a thread on another website for a long time and was indeed very informative until he switched over to our side... lets get back on track and talk about this office boom that is now emerging word is met 3 was cancelled and new redesign for office is on its way this is why 100 south biscayne is launching condos later this year becuase after zoning and sales start they will be one of the first condo buildings going up in the third building boom after the second (office building boom)... |

I'm guilty of bringing up the embargo topic in the first place...and wish it hadn't turned into ethnic warfare...but that certainly wasn't my intention. I just brought it up (I thought) as a legitimate economic concern that, imo, DOES have a real impact on Miami's economy and--ultimately--its skyline.
If we can't discuss things like that, then there's no sense in discussing the Heat winning a title, either. It's off-topic. So is any response to someone going there for a visit and seeking advice on where to hang out. Don't misunderstand. I happen to LOVE this site, and I totally agree that people should strive to stay focused and polite as much as possible. It can't be pollyanna, though. Miami IS a wonderful place but it's ALSO a city with enduring urban ills and strife that are a very real part of any discussion about it. A message-board that reads like a glossy Chamber-Of-Commerce brochure would have zero credibility with anyone. Miami's problems are well-known everywhere...just like any other city. I guess what I'm saying is this: Should the focus here be on development? Damn right. It's why we're here. But I'd add that not EVERYBODY drools all over themselves over EVERY development...nor do they think EVERYTHING that happens in Miami is just faintingly wonderful. It isn't. For this board to be vital, I think sometimes by necessity it will HAVE to veer from a discussion of how many cranes are on Biscayne Boulevard...but, yes, we should all do that in a CIVIL manner. |

hey sorry to get off the subject again but i just have to respond. as far as hatian gangs its a fact that there is many hatian gangs in Miami. I realise that this seems to be off the subject in many ways but it could have an effect on our growing skyline.that is the only reason i brought it up in the first place. In my opinion in many ways it does have to do with developement. in many opinions no matter what the subject ,if it has to do with miami its nearly impossible for many people not to talk about politics racial tention and crime. sorry if i affended anyone i never meant to I am fairly new to this forum and im just learning how it works and the many different personalities on here. Is it against the rules to post links to photos or news paper articles? also i just learned how to edit. i did not know that it was possible.ok now I wounder if there will be a huge slowdown or if the next couple years will show even more construction cranes than the present day. What will happen to all the proposed and aproved condos?

Say Goodbye to nobody's friend...
I had him Banned, All should return to normal around here shortly. I thank everyone for their patience through this, I had to give the guy a shot first to try and be a productive member of the forum. Today obviously proved that it wasn't possible. In any case, Lets talk Skyscrapers, Developments, and Transportation... |

Is this true, that Met 3 was cancelled? I thought they had finally started doing something. |

RIDICULOUS
DO NOT POST OBJECTIONABLE MATERIAL IN THE MIAMI THREAD. THOSE OF YOU WHO DO, WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTIES AND WILL HAVE THEIR MEMBERSHIPS REVOKED ON THE SKYSCRAPERCITY FORUMS.
KEEP ALL THREADS ON TOPIC. DO NOT INSULT FELLOW FORUM MEMBERS! Last edited by Toucano; February 21st, 2007 at 07:01 AM. |

IF YOUR PLAN IS TO SIMPLY INSULT A FORUM MEMBER OR MIAMI ITSELF, DO NOT POST.
This Message is especially directed at Barney Muldoon. |

This is absolutely Ridiculous. I disappear for a day and the forum has run amuck with inappropriate material and people stepping outside their boundaries in asking for other forumers to be banned. I'm gravely disappointed in the behavior of some of the newer members and hope that our dedicated skyscraper enthusiasts are not discouraged by these recent rogue rants. If you have any questions, concerns, or problems with fellow members, you should address your concerns to me (your local mod) or any of the other Mods in the Florida/North American sections...
To clarify: The Miami sub forum and SSC does not tolerate personal attacks on any of our members. Furthermore, nobody should be creating a thread pertaining to any particular member or references to the personal lives of any of us. Keep threads on topic. It's a shame that every couple of months or so, I or any of the other mods have to step in and remove members over generally petty disagreements. We are all welcomed to have our own opinions and discussions here on SSC and I hope that everyone can abide by the guidelines when visiting the forum. |
