Don't make me post too much, but they ruin the scenery in the corniche, as well as those spikes following the mini towers make it ugly.

Amazing video! Thanks travian ![]() The park is simply the most stupidest idea ever!! Why the hell would they build a DESERT in the second half of the park! In the summer, the desert expands; what the hell! I didnt like the concept behind the video.. Veryly poorly done; even the Harbor City sucks. Hope they dont go for that.. As for the North Shore, that means they will cover up areas of beachfront covering the Hilton, Four Seasons, and future hotels! Please dont do that!

well dont take the shapes seriously, its just a temporary look, you know like for example business bay... the first impression/render was that all towers looked almost the same, look at them now... every tower looking different !!! and about the hotels... there will not be any hotels on that side, infact its already filled with embassies, they will finally move thank god !!!! the only hotel i know thats coming up there is kimpinski (the plot right next to Hilton) the northshore dosent really reach anywhere near hilton of kimpinski, its on the other side..... the desert part is i guess for conservation of natural environment... etc... (i think) some things where indeed weird like the new corniche with waves (hills) that are hollow from the bottom.. you can go sit under the hill !!! (for shade and stuff... i think ? ) |

Proposals sought for Doha airport site
Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company has invited firms to submit proposals in February for a conceptual masterplan for the area currently occupied by Doha International Airport. The site covers an area of 1.3 square kilometres and will be available for use once the New Doha International Airport opens in 2011. The first phase of the new airport has two runways and a 140,000-square-metre airport terminal, with 24 contact gates and capacity to handle 12 million passengers a year. The project is one of the largest construction schemes in Qatar and is crucial for the future development of its national carrier, Qatar Airways. |

I think they should just expand the freezone westward to occupy the current airport site, instead of creating another city-like master development.

Well since this is so close to the new airport anyway, a commercial development would be most suitable. And since the available land is gonna be huge, a master planned / well spaced out development with greenery would be easy to set up..

Greenifying it and beautifying it will have a good impression for arrivals, especially V.I.P's and tourists.
