Gulf Building, Pittsburgh
Height: 582 feet (177 meters)
Floors: 44 Year Built: 1932 Facts: The pyramidal top is illuminated at night. Different colors indicate the weather forecast. - Built on the site of the first oil refinery in the United States - the birthplace of the petroleum industry in this country. - For many years the tallest building in Pittsburgh. The first two stories are faced in New England granite, with the upper stories of Indiana limestone.

Excellent masterpiece! I love the well proportioned setbacks that convey a subtle grace despite this being a massive structure. |

Yes, you rule Steel City! I love this building... a big 10 from me!
This is everything a skyscraper should be, in my opinion... nice height... soaring character... attractive Indiana limestone cladding... distinctive pyramid top... and it looks stunning at night next to the amazing Koppers Building! Art deco rules! |

I give it an 8/10. The only thing I'd like more is if the top wasn't so simple and perhaps accented with other materials.

Very nice, even though it looks plain, it's a classic and old-school building. 8.5/10
