Sorry buddy but I have to disagree with you on this one...Just curious to know which malls in Bangkok and Indonesia your referring to. Ive been to both cities and malls are usually the first things I check out when Im in a city. Call me bias but the Paragon, in my eyes, are no more glamourous than Greenbelt or Trinoma. And I can compare Central World to the Crossroads in Ortigas or even the Podium if the Podium were any bigger. Heck, I even dare say that I like the feel Greenbelt (what number is it now,the new one? 5 is it?) is better than Central World or Paragon. But as Ive said, maybe Im just bias...

Indonesian malls? hmmmm, not sure about that...But if your referring to Plaza Indonesia or Grand Indonesia, well both are Jakarta so I am assuming that that is what a "classy" mall would be in Indonesia, but then again maybe not, maybe there are bigger and classier malls that I have not heard or seen yet. But I am going to say this, I would rather take a stroll through Greenbelt, Trinoma or even SM MOA during a sunset any day. Dont get me wrong on that statement now, both are good Indonesian malls, the latter being newer and more classy than the former. And it's good a place to hang out if you want to see beautiful classy Indonesian girls. However Philippine malls in, in my eyes, are at par with the mall Ive been in and in some aspects even better (talking about the massive size here). But if your talking about Singapore malls and one particular mall in Malaysia called the Pavillion? Well, that's another story...

Our malls are really quite good buddy...seriously...

Good job higen, glad to have known you've been to both Bangkok and Jakarta, so we can get your perspective. I've never been to those cities, but photos do tell alot and the comparisons noted on another thread on this site. Sorry, if my statement sounded condescending towards Manila's malls, but i like the point you made. Manila's malls are just as luxurious!! My (yet) remark is meant to acknowledge malls like SMNoE's and Glorietta's(upcoming) reinventions. I LOVE Manila's malls, especially the indoor/outdoor types like the Ayala Malls!
As for Jakarta...i would like our Shangri-la Plaza to be more like their Taman Anggrek Mall or our Festival Supermall more like their Pondok Indah Mall as a comparison. Some lighting adjustments and tile work can easily change that, like what was done with the Market!Market! below...LOVE it!!

[/QUOTE]

On another note...the Aliwan Fiesta photos are gorgeous! great photography!

Photos do tell a different story sometimes. Happens to all of us...Sometimes when I see a picture and I would say "WOW! I wanna go there", and when I get there, 3 things happen. One is Im not at all disappointed because it's as pretty as the picture I saw. Another is I would feel overwhelmed because it's alot better than the picture and finally is I get disappointed (degree of disappointment varies) because it's nothing like the picture...I think same thing happens when you look at pictures of food

I agree with your lighting observation in Shangri-la. I was there last year in the evening. The mall felt gloomy and the lights were so yellowish it makes the entire place look and feel yellowish. They should sproose it up. I remember it being one of the most "luxurious" malls in MM before, now it looks and feel old, almost like Harrison Plaza...almost
