Port Gentil | Gabon | City Gallery
I would like to present some pictures from Port Gentil and its environs in Gabon. I do hope you like them
Port Gentil (which means "Friendly Port") is Gabon´s second biggest town. It is not really "big" because it only has 90 000 inhabitants and it dwarfs in the shadow of Libreville which has more than 550 000 inhabitants and is the capital of Gabon (but I won´t present Libreville in this thread). I hope that all the photos will show up in the right place....and are not all mixed up or not even appearing at all medium-sized but very well-stocked supermarket (very nice French goodies in it, been there myself) street scene in Port Gentil Aren´t these beaches splendid? Most famous beaches in and around Port Gentil are: - Cap Lopez - Sogara (le Dahu) - La Pointe Chapuis a new lovely (luxury) tourist village in an untouched tropical setting (outside of town) some old historic monuments and buildings in Port Gentil "Eglise Saint Michel" the following two buildings are now small musuems in one of Gabon´s wildlife parks nature spots: the area is also good for fishing "so and so" pics and snapshots taken in mainly in Port Gentil there are tons of skyblogs with soooo many photos of various people. I have just selcted a "few" [IMG] [/IMG] cool African hairstyles, not just Blacks love them wonderful surf and kite surfing snapshot around Port Gentil Some weekend beach houses in Port Gentil another National park in Gabon (not too far from Port Gentil), ljust ook at the nature Although the urban (upper) middle class and high class of Libreville and Port Gentil drink a lot of wine and especially champagne (Gabon held the record of champagne drinking per head for many years, unbelievable but true!), local Gabonese beer is also worth a try National Gabonese beer (Regab) Well, I just add Miss Gabon 2004. She really looks smashing ....TO BE CONTINUED

If I'm not mistaken, Gabon has a high population of mainly French expats.

the name "place de la Concorde" is really funny.... entry to a school of commerce this is the townhall of Port Gentil....downstairs are sunshades and there is a boulangerie/café old church called "St. Eglise" (got a smaller photo of it already here is a bigger one) another street scene.... another small public area to relax

Mouha, yeah, there are many Senegalese in Gabon and exchange between the two countries is steadily growing, too, which is a very ood thing! Gabonese appreciate Senegalese people a lot because they are calm, peaceful and friendly people.
