I, too, have a similar feeling:
if it's going to be 498, why not just add another 2?

Shanghai is truely Impressive. Wonder what Pu-Dong Will be in another 10 Yrs time,

the transformation from Cropland into Modern Skylines has only took her relatively a

little more than a decade. If you ask me, thats efficient advancement, even by a

global standard. The pace of Shanghai's everlasting transformation has truely

impressed many people alike. Fantastic photos, nice effort from CITYRAIN!

Shanghai World Financial Center: Postmodern high-rise wonder. "The design the New York architects came up with for the sculpted tower was inspired by Chinese symbolism. It is the Chinese conception of the earth as a square and the sky as a circle that gives the WFC its distinctive shape. This design attempts to relate the building to its context through an abstract language and integrate the traditions of Chinese architecture, without being limited to pictorial or image-based historical precedents."---Han Joachim Fuchs .

The message is clear: China is striving firmly upwards from the earth towards the heavens.

I think they should be on the 43th floor. The other posibility is that the podium consists of only 5 storeys instead of what we had thought to be 6.
