Yea, because it would sort of level out the massive gap between OIE and the other Tai Koo Place towers, which at 130-160m are still tall, but only half the height of OIE.

I'd like two towers of different height and different appearance.

This is definitely a step forward to make the Taikoo Place development more prestigious. Let's hope they get some famous architect to design the buildings (which is not gonna happen)

hmmm...
if the location for those proposals is correct
then they have to tear down Somerset House and Cornwall House, which are in any case hideous IMO
but why u still can see Taikoo Place Tower A (PCCW Tower)

location will be the buildings on which i have put my name and date on top:

The article did mention the Somerset and Cornwall will come down to give way to the new buildings. Somerset and Cornwall aren't real office buildings, they are more industrial. There are warehouses, offices and data centre inside now. If there is a higher demand of office spaces, Somerset and Cornwall won't be able to support the need.

YES! Sounds good to me - hope they retain the names though.

To be fair, both Somserset and Cornwall actually look half decent (exterior) - because they are managed by Swire. Although they have that industrial look, they don't look dirty and grim - unlike the building sandwiched in between OIE and Oxford House, which looks like something out of 1960's Russia.

according to the Chinese article,

2A座的設計由原先批核的295米降低至現申請的246.6米,而2B座的高度為270.25米,並不高於已批核的高度。太古指出,其中屋宇署對2A座的批核仍然有效。

2A was approved for 295m but they decided to downgrade to 246.6m, and it was already approved from before. while 2B is 270.25m.

In addition, once built the taller building will be the tenth tallest, ranking after the Cheung Kong Center.

Nooo, don't cut down the heights! Make it higher.

HIGHEEER AND HIGHEEEEEEEEEER!

They should build 3 more buildings, excluding OIE.

A 300m, a 270m, a 230m.

Too bad there's a North Point height limit. Could really use a supertall in the middle there.
