Good update, spicytimothy. One Island East is going to be another signature tower with the likes of Central Plaza, Langham Place, etc.

Good to finally see some supertalls rise outside of HK Island. Together with Nina and ICC, this one is going to make the skyline of HongKong superimpressive overall. Design looks great as well!

This one is on HK Island. It's just much more further east than the other supertalls in Sheung Wan, Central and Wan Chai. It's the tallest thing to be constructed on HK Island since IFC 2.

I remembered walking past where this is rising now and all it was was a massive empty pit just down the road from City Plaza at Tai Koo Shing. Strange sort of location considering it is completely surrounded by only residential buildings, and not other businesses like elsewhere, even the area around Nina Tower in Tsuen Wan seems a more sensible location.

I hope the sun's reflection on the glass won't cause a very annoying glare onto neighboring buildings and heat up the whole area like a greenhouse.

It won't be long before it's taller then the surrounding buildings!

Strange render of it from the home page:

...and a small render of the Westlands Road elevation from joneslanglasalle.com.hk

The core seems to be racing ahead, similar to ICC (Union Square 7). It's a massive core too, wider than many of the apartment blocks surrounding it.
