Um, I may be wrong here, but isn't this tower u/c or even topped out already - maybe even finished? I recognize that top structure a lot at least.

Maybe you have mistaken it with Henglong Guangchang aka Plaza 66.

Nope, the tower I'm referring to is located in the Hongqiao CBD/Gubei. I may have seen a rendering of it on a billboard in the area, but I think I've seen it for real. Or this tower maybe hasn't even started construction yet?
Do you have more info on it? I'm sure there is some at skyscrapers.cn, but that site is quite hard to navigate considering the small amount of characters I can read, as of yet.

But you're right. On this rendering the tower looks quite similar to the phase 2 of Plaza 66, even the shape and the 'multi-layered' structuring of the facade.

Sorry, I don't have more info on it. But I will be in Shanghai next week and will do some more research.

To sum up, you knew about a supertall project in Shanghai and you didn't tell anybody and then forgot all the info . You evil!

Do you remember the name of the building in characters? Maybe we can find out something via google. If you ever remember anything please tell us, mate.

Wow.

I thought Dubai was insane until I read this thread.

Shanghai looks incredible. IMHO it already drubs NY and HK.

Dubai is some crazy stuff, but it looks like the Chinese have gone ahead.

Don't know if this has been posted before.
This project is apparently called Shanghai Multimedia Valley, and is located close to the main train station.

Map of the area:

I am not 100% sure which one is approved, but looks like the second one. That one will be 200m tall with 43 floors. Its situated in site X3-2 and is under construction.

I think that the second one is the former proposal, lol. I'm almost sure they chose the boxy one. Then, a couple of weeks ago or so I found the render showing a twin version, hava no idea what is it going about...
@staff, you should ask at ss.cn, I have done too many questions there already
