fair enough. I always thought of concrete as being the hardened product but guess cement becomes concrete after being mixxed with sand in which case I gracefully retract my comment.

Am I right in thinking this tower will look virtually the same height as the shard on the skyline since its AOD is 305m and the shard's AOD is 310!?

Ok checked at lunch no crane or pump - think I saw people on core - Crosby square is coned off. I may drop by tomorrow - currently sitting outside a bar on the south bank enjoying the sun.

Hello all, been checking out this forum as an observer for the last year but only just pulled my finger out and signed up. Seemed like a good time to do so, as the London Skyscraper scene is about to go mental.
I'm lucky enough to live in the fantastic area that is known as Petticoat Lane and therefore glance at the towers of the square mile every time I look away from QI, Time Team or Family Guy on my tellybox. I aim to post a shot from my front room window every week or so to ... well, just to show off really! (starting soon...). It's a pretty amazing view of the City. I'm a country boy at heart, but it's awesome living near so many (soon to be) skyscrapers! So excited about all of them, but the Pinnacle is the daddy. I'll try to post a few updates, as I wander/jog past the site every couple of days (though it'll be hard to match some of the 'old boys' - lumberjack in particular!). For starters, Bishopsgate was one lane only today - no deliveries (that I saw), but extensive roadworks. Two cranes were pretty busy, seemed to be re-arranging/organising the recent glut of deliveries. fair few guys on site - in short, bristling with potential energy! Got a feelin October is gonna be a pearler... |

Sunday - nothing much happened but second picture (excuse reflections) shows the work done on the north side ground floor. No pump today I will check tomorrow! The last one shows the amazingly detailed renders on the hoardings. I'm sure you've all forgotten what they look like
