I think we are on the 63rd floor.

Also notice that after the second setback on each wing, there will be no more noses with columns, rather regular floor plates.

I thought it was a mistake too but if you look at the pic which shows the whole middle levels of the tower so far, you can see on the left wing numbers where it goes to 39, then skips one, and then 40 / 42 one after another. It's compensating for the doubleheight floor right below it so although the 40 sticker may be a little off, the 42 is in the correct place, well, as far as I can tell atleast.

[QUOTE=Mark Rejhon]Fellow Canadian here.

It's funny that the Burj Dubai observation deck is suggested to be at 442M while the CN tower's upper observation deck is 445M. I know, I live in the same country as the CN tower, but it's kind of surprising if that's true. I would bet the 442M number in this diagram is incorrect and the observation deck is actually a little bit higher to outdo our tower. Just bump it a storey or two, and boom, presto, you've annihilated the World Record.

For the record to everybody in this thread.....

The CN Tower's height markers are as follows.

Bottom Base of main pod....338m
Bottom observatory....342m
Main observatory....346.34m
Revolving Restaurant...350.6m
Space Deck.....447m (rounded off by CN) actual......446.65m
Top of Structure....553.33m

I see the Space Deck as the top floor of CN but I also see the 162nd floor as the top floor of BD. Observatory is secondary. We are looking at over 610m to the top of BD provisionally but we do not know for sure how many floors there will actually be and which is the highest "habitable" floor not including plant floors. That remains to be seen as well as the provisional 808m height marker.

I believe it will be higher than 808m. These guys will go for maximum possible height on the spire.

Lotta fun, lotta fun

Absolutely right The-Real-Link, there´s no mistake in the floor numbering. By the way, I believe very very soon we´ll start seeing some glass as some photos shows what looks like metal fixations on the edge of the slabs.

Yes, I was thinking the same months ago, but it seems that they are slower on that part of the project (comparing with what was planned at Arabtec's web page). But it gives us the possibility to see this beautiful structure "naked"

They are nearly at the completion of the first setback. They have taken a lot of time to construct the nose cones at that level, may be because of...

1. They are more complex because they have made a "belt" that embraces the columns to make them one piece with the core (lateral forces have to be transmitted trough that belt structure). This part is critical, so it requires a lot of rebar, quality testing and possible pre or post-tensioning with cables. I've seen in photos one month ago how they were installing parts of metal trusses.

...And/Or...

2. Those nose cones are not part of the critical path in the project, so being slow on them will not delay the whole project.

You can check out the Trump Chicago thread for an idea - the glass is going to be the same/similar.
