Wow great pic. Once the glass reaches the angled parts it will really give its shape. Right now it looks kind of blocky.

Oh and the extension of Rock Center look pretty damn drab.

You know, when I see the pic right above, I can't help but think of the people who come up with stuff like:
"Oh man, NY is dead now. Everything's taking place in Asia."

Just wake up people, NY is still magnificient. Even without Burj Dubai.

We've been doing it longer and we will probably be doing it long after they've all stopped. Same thing with Chicago, they've been doing this for far longer and are still making things happen and will most likely be doing this long after these asian construction booms quiet down.

I agree. No offense to anyone, but who needs BD or Shanghai when you have the oldest and first skyscrapers in the world?
NY or Chicago will never be dead in terms of skyscrapers, everything we know about tall buildings came from those two cities.

Bank of America Tower has 54 floors (954 feet) according to the Durst Organization for those people who asked earlier in the thread.

It's tuff to say at this point, from the photo it does not look like the renderings at all. It seems like it has another 10-15 floors to go in my opinion.

With the commercial squeeze in the city Durst/BofA should of added another half dozen floors.

Iīve tried to count the floors, and based on the latest pictures Iīd say itīs up to the 45th or 46th (9 or 8 more floors to go).

You can't just do that because zoning does not allow you to add more floors just because you want to. They are already maxed out on the allowable buildable floor space.

Everybody knows that Durst/BofA would of needed several go-aheads to add more floor space, however they didn't max out the potential floor space for this scraper... did they?

Yes, they are maxed out and even got some added bonus air rights by rehabilitating the subway station on the corner of 6th and 42nd for the city.

The city council still likes the 250 meter tall plateau that is Midtown.
