Yes, height and size is a touchy issue in this city. If you live here, then you don't need me to tell you.

Well, we still have the MSG future proposals that will make 33rd Street the best supertall road on earth.

That's just f***in pathetic, I thought this was NYC... A city known for skyscrapers and leading the way. I sickins me that in a city where people seem to want the city to be known for their skyscrapers and progress, they also want to seem to cap so many potential projects that could really be all they could have been. That's not the NYC I remember from living back there when I was little... NYC is a city of skyscrapers and progress, at least I'd like to still hope so...

Also not to touch the spire issue because I know so many people do and that I don't really make a big deal of it, but I'm curious if city councel will not let anyone build offices over 1,000 feet in midtown? Or is the only way to achieve a building to go beyond 1,000 feet in midtown only done by using a stick that gradually keeps getting smaller as it rises?

I remember when I was very little looking out from the WTC observatory and my dad telling me that someday there would be something even taller than that in NYC someday. Hopefully the Madison Square Garden Development will be our next great feat, that I'm looking foward to! Both that and the new WTC complex, ten years from now NYC will be quite a site to see!!! It will be better than what I would have thought even a year ago!

this tower would not look as good without the big spire. The spire is essential to this tower.

Ok, but at least don´t count it as total height, no problem with the spire itself, that´s not my point, is just that I don´t find it fair to count that big spire that increases the height for at least 70 meters and say is a Supertall, it should be on Highrises in my opinion. Greetings.

Even so, its roof is well over 900' above grade; I'm sick and tired of people complaining about NY buildings w/ spires. Everyone does it. And, by 2017/18/19, NY will have a s**tload of buildings w/o spires that are over 1,000'+ tall, perhaps more than anyone else. Saying this city has massive plans for the future is an understatement. Back on topic, the BoA Tower is starting to turn me on.

Im not a big fan of most spires and would prefer this one without one. But anyhow its a structural part of the tower so its a supertall. Not if you judge by floorheight though.

This tower is so good looking! It is getting up there for sure. I like the spire. It is one of those buildings that will look so good with one.

Yeah otherwise it would look stumpy.

couldn't agree more! what's more important is design and how suitable it is to its location. i'd say this one scores high on both those counts.

there's no point building a massive building if it isn't necessary.

I don´t agree with you, for me the most important things are both (Height and Design), that´s why I´m in this forum, I´m not an arquitect, just a skyscraper fan. And the bigger the better, also with nice designs of course.
