I think that the crown has reached its maximum height which is about 950 feet.

I believe it hasnt. The lower roof is only 812 or so feet and the end of the crown is 944. I still think it has another 30-60 feet to go.

My best guess, tells me that a few more pieces of steel and this badboy is topped out, (less windows, and associated window frames, which will protrude alittle past the shown steel, it will be interesting to see how far above the glass actually will go.!!!)

Hey TICONLA1,

I know you work in construction, in your opinion does it seem that there could be some sort of protective film over the facade which is why it appears so glossy?

The renderings and the glass on the tower have definitely been a bit different.

I don't think so, but i heard something about this glass and UV protection, I'll bet there is some type of film or UV barrier sandwiched between glass panes, like safety glass, it seems to me to look more opaque than glossy, also the glass has special insulating propertys that helped with the building attaining LEED status. (read that in Popular Science)

Also the glass is part of a rainwater collection system, IE the slopes, for the chilling system.

I honestly like the glass, i think it has that kind'a MiDtOwN corporate look to it that most large corporations are probably looking for. What i'm really looking forward to us the sharp cut or angle that will ultimately be the pinnacle of the roof height. That should be interesting.

I agree. The glass is beautiful. Only ten year olds need the glass on every building to be shiney.

The issue was merely raised because in the renderings the glass was shiny.

However, I think we'll probably have to wait until the facade is finished before we can make a valued judgment of what glass effect is better. All that red and orange of the still visible frame makes for too much of a contrast.

the steel beams have reached roof at lev54 or 270m/885ft.
yes there is more fin section to be built around the top floors which will reach 288m/944ft. so another 18m or 60ft to go.
