He obviously meant that nothing seems out of the ordinary in NYC because so much stuff that would seem unusual in other cities happens all the time in NYC.

Also, the rendering shows the building with the sun's light reflecting directly off the front of the building. If you were to look at the real building in the same light, it would have the same effect, drowning out the floor plate lines.

Come here in Paris and see T1 in La Defense: you will definitely know what an ugly cladding is...

You all can [insert crude remark here] because I think this tower looks great. Anyone who expects buildings to look just like they do in their renderings deserves to be disappointed.

Screw the rendering; it looks better and much bigger in real life.

They are recladding the Verizon Building next door from black to green, possibly to complement the new Bank of America Tower.

HeY, i'm lovin this facade more and more as i see it. It was once this kinda depressing, murky, kind of facade, but now its a little different, i think the only thing that really determines this tower's ultimate 'statement' on the skyline is it's crown, and how close it's appearance is to the render, once again. Once this is known, i think a lot of people will have seen the highlights of this tower and may be able to pass judgement.

i hated this building in the renders, and I am LOVING it in real life as it goes up: another example of a FANTASTIC NYC skyscraper. Rational AND romantic.

makes me think of some of Hugh Ferris' drawings. There were some with triangulated and sloping planes, i cant find them on the net... but this one gives u a ense of his style:
