You would be surprised. even on lower floors where the building is even closer to that crane, the crane would turn completely and face the building and yes it is still in use as it is needed to bring in the building materials (glass and the such) to the floors they are installing stuff.

the spire looks to be 4th segment high which going off plans equates to 298m.
nearly a supertall.

That's the largest spire I've seen in my life. People are saying it looks bigger (without the supporting structure around it) than the one in the renderings. I passed by it today and it looks great! Simply another jewel in this magical city.

this type of architecture seems to be a trend in NYC right now. With the new trade towers and the freedom tower, sort of similar.

the 6th segement of spire [email protected] 307m or 1007ft! its now a supertall.lol
also just 2m lower then our tallest structure in sydney (Sydney tower @ 309m)
