According to LEED standards, Bank of America tower is the first and only Platinum buiilding on earth,...where better than in NYC.

...and for the people that think this baby should of had a facade/windows like the shiny 7 World Trade Center downtown, take in consideration the urban planning involved with respecting the ESB/neighbors in the skyline as well as the fact that the majority of this scraper is made up from recycled parts.

Nice update. The Verizon looks so cool now. Cant wait until its fully reclad.IMO they should do it with many other scrapers in NYC too, for example Verizon bldg in downtown @ Brooklyn bridge. but i heard that something is planned.

No offense but I would perfer they wouldn't reclad more buildings. Glass buildings are so souless in many aspects especially the glass used on Verizon. No need to kill the vibe anymore.

Yeh, it was pretty unnecessary form the aestetic point of view. If they wanted a more 'green' building all they would have to do was change the glass, not the whole facade. At least now less electricity will be spent. I guess it looks decent, especailly at night.
There are plans to reclad the Verizon downtown, and c'mon let's face it.. the thing needs windows! There's only one vibe coming from that one and it ain't any good

observation deck?

Does anyone know if there'll be an observation deck with this building?....because I think the views from the top of this building would be awesome!!!

it's a LEED rating designed to show how eco-friendly a building is with platinum being the highest rating possible. (i.e. more eco-friendly than say, a gold or silver rated building)

They hardly squeezed in some extra office space, so I don't think there could possibly be any observation deck

Edit: left out like a ton of words

One Bryant Park is really looking good. I really haven't been keeping up on this guy with all the other great project going up you forget about the little guys. I'll be flying over to NYC in a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the new projects. The last time I was in NYC it was in 07/01 and things sure have changed since then....
