knowing NYC, it's most likely lights. i don't think such a beautiful glass building will become covered in stripes

Strips of light may look good. Even if that strip of whatever they are installing has no use, it doesn't look like it's killing the design.

All very good possibilities. Don't forget that side of the building faces towards Times Square so they are probably trying to "liven" things up a little. I think a strip of light going up the tower will look very good at night.

looks like the 7th section of spire is up, thus 314m/1032ft tall now.

Right now it's the fourth (4th) tallest, behind the ESB, CB, and NYTT.

By 2020, I bet you it will be #7 or #8 in NY.

When it becomes the 2nd tallest on the east coast, it won't stay that way for much more than a year. A very short reign as NYC's second tallest.

Wow!!...that nighttime shot is amazing. This building has really changed the skyline in that area. Now just imagine that same shot in 10 years after all the buildings of the Freedom Tower are built....and the Hudson Rail towers to the west and the Moma tower to the north.....the skyline will be INCREDIBLE!!!!

Anybody else agree....holla!!!!

Those are some amazing shots Tonyshi. I think the windmill (or w/e it's called) is starting to go up.

Awesome addition to midtown Toronto is waayyy overdue for a beauty like this. Would also look cool across from 1 Bloor which is kinda gimmicky but alright i guess.
