Thanks for the great pics! Can't wait to see all of the cladding finished on BoA. NYC sure does look polluted in those pics tho.

Great pics! I love the spire, though I'm one the ones that think it shouldn't count towards the official height.

beautiful building.
How long will it take to finish the cladding? (an estimate of curse, I don't think anybody knows for sure...)

that because the building itself is 288m/945ft high. the spire reaches 366m/1200ft.

This one of the new Midtown is amazing.

Now if we can just get the Hudson Yards and Nouvel's MoMA towers built soon.

That's one high spire. I think it's contradictory to say Petronas' spires shouldn't be counted to its official height at the same time when a tower is built to New York and it has a spire of 78 meters, the same people say it's totally okey and cool to have a tower that high. You either stick to the opinion that the spire should or shouldn't be counted no matter where the tower is built and which (American) tower it overtakes!

Can we drop all this height and spire whining already? The only people here that keeps on complaining aren't even from the cities in which these towers are built. People in New York, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Chicago, Hong Kong don't even care about that stuff.

If you are bothered by the spire counting as the official height, then just keep in your mind that it doesn't so it won't bother you so much. Just because some stupid council says the spire counts as the height doesn't mean a building shouldn't have one. Every building has a right to put whatever it wants to on its head. It's not the building's fault or anyone in the city fault either.

The architect of this building didn't put the spire to cheat on the height but because they think the spire compliments the look of the tower. If you have a problem with the height, then that's your business, don't blame the tower.

No, I know that. It's just, when we see a picture of Midtown Manhattan, even with the spire, it seems so small compared to ESB, but then I figured, ESB with the antenna is around 450m right (1475ft)?

^yes it does look good with spire.
just like current worlds tallest residential tower-Q1 in Australia.
it has a main roof area with fin membrane wrap around.
the fin reaches 275m and fin 322m.
