Update on this project SP Shukhobrishti




Work began today on this project...

The Rs 1500-crore, 150 acre project will consist of 765 four-storied buildings and 100 fourteen-storied buildings . There will be a total of 20,000 apartments which will be allotted to people belonging to lower income and middle income groups. The complex, SP Shukhobrishti, is slated to be constructed in phases and likely to be completed by early 2011. This is a joint venture undertaken by HIDCO and Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Yes, it is for 100,000 people in this project.

The Kolkata New Town will accomodate over one million people in different phases.

This one is at proposal stage. Hope this gets built. However there is opposition from "social activists" and some ultra left political parties to this project because of land aquistion issues.

Some of these are indeed starting to look more like modern projects.

I agree with what someone said earlier - a lot of these buildings look like whitewashed tower blocks from mediterranian cities.

But then, the boom is only just starting.
