Good luck with getting an intelligent answer Rem. I find if you raise issues the chinese are uncomfortable with they just use personal abuse to hide their embarassment.

look, the reason we got mad is because our country, nor our government. Your post clearly state that you would like Tibet or Taiwan gets seprated, and a majority of Chinese would of course gets upset, especially it is a westerner fanning the flame. Problem in China is knowned widely in China by its own citizens, and you would know if you lived in China, we have all ready have an impression that westerners likes to interfer with other countries affire, what your doing is only intensifly that impression which cause more peoples to get irrtated, because problem in our own country is going to solve by its inhabitants not other countries

You don't need YelloPerilo to answer you, you could find interesting documents anywhere were you actually interested in finding out the truth (but you are not).
So, at the very least, the US government did not have any reaction about it, and contributed conspicuously to what happened.
I quote from the Guardian article linked below: "On November 1 1983, the secretary of state, George Shultz, was passed intelligence reports of "almost daily use of CW [chemical weapons]" by Iraq.
However, 25 days later, Ronald Reagan signed a secret order instructing the administration to do "whatever was necessary and legal" to prevent Iraq losing the war".

You are too blind to see it even if it is posed infront of you.

I wouldn't be so quick to write him off. I've been here 5 years and find this completely rediculous. I've been to almost all of these cities. Half these buildings that are built are empty. Take a look at Pudong. Towers everywhere built on spec. Today there is over 2.5 billion square feet of comercial real estate empty in China. That's 2 sq feet for every person. China's boom is being financed by the West and China's deliberately depressed Yuan. You can't blame the Chinese, they're letting the West fund this boom but if the West was smart, especially the US they'd slap tariffis on Chinese goods immediately and force them to let the Yuan appreciate.

Sounds like you are the one who needs to be educated. China continues to hoard foreign currency reserves why they keep the Yuan undervalued by what most experts estimate to be 20% all the while building massive trade imbalances with the rest of the world. These are facts, not speculation. I'm not knocking China, i'm knocking the rest of the world for allowing this to continue. You think for one minute if the tables were reversed that China would allow this? No way, they'd slap duties and import taxes and what ever else it took to protect their industries.

We simply don't care if you are impressed or not.
We built the great wall because we need it not to impress the world.
I'm very happy to see China is leading the new era of skyscrapers construction.
