China

It's unfortunate that progress seems to mean tearing down the traditional. It will be a city situated in China but with little appearance of being in China.

Who decides what is "China" and what is not? No matter what the Chinese build, it will still be Chinese.

Yes and they are the ones building it anyway. China's going through massive architectural change. Imagine the architectural transitions in Europe during the past: Romanesque>Gothic>Renaissance>Baroque>Modern. China's experiencing the same albeit a little bit more radical.

Terror threat all over the world? LOL, pleeeeese, China is not USA, who makes enemies all over the world by trying to be a "world police". China has never been, and never will be, a target for terrorists.

@ nai guy

China gets money from:

1. foreign-investors (directly/indirectly--'hot money' inflows into China)
2. foreign-exchange reserves (world's largest--due to their China's surging exports thanks to its manufacturing prowess)

Btw, even if China builds all these projects, it still won't have the per-capita amount of commercial/residential/office space that America has. But, assuming that they did, all of Earth's natural resources will all have to be channeled to China leaving the rest of the world to become barren wastelands.

That means that China won't, in its wildest dreams, reach American-level of consumption. But who cares...as if American consumption lifestyle is even healthy.

1, these buildings are much cheaper than say usa or europe(cheap meterial, cheap labor force), purchase power is 1.8:1=RMB:USD
2, chinese economy scale is low-estimated, huge demestic private company, sharehold company, state-owned company, and forien capitals, they build these buildings.

Thats the point nobody talks about about. The way India and China are consuming, in a couple of years it will be a tussle between the BRIC's and the developed nations for the world's limited resources.

Nah, they're not really terrorists, more like activists like those Falun Gong people.

Is it a joke ?
from Newsweek:
Does the international war on terror have a new front ?
Earlier this month, police in western Xinjiang province swept down on a camp where, chinese authorities say, armed Muslims were stockpiling explosives : 18 militants were shot dead and 17 arrested. Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said the militants were members of the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) who had "carried out a series of violent terrorist activities" and were "associated with international terrorist forces". It was the first time China had ever claimed the presence of a foreign-linked terrorist base on its soil.
The official Xinhua news agency claimed that AL Qaeda had helped train 1, 000 ETIM fighters.

Guys, let's stop these meaningless debate of politics in this thread please, otherwise we'll see another round of vicious fighting, and then this thread will end up being closed AGAIN, YES, I MEAN AGAIN!! Let's respect z0rg's work and effort in keeping this thread going, he seems to be the only person who has been contributing photos and new information to this thread.
