The BOC is more iconic. The IFC is beautiful, but it could be anywhere.

I would choose 2IFC probably because of its incredible height and soaring design. I really like the menacing teeth at the top and the almost organic green lighting at night. I think 2IFC really adds another dimension to the skyline -- a bold pinnacle that soars even above the mountains. It will be the perfect partner of ICC across the harbour.

Bank of China is amazing too, it's just too bad it's set back so far from the harbour.

Argh, this is hard.
I love them both, and they among my top favorite towers, but in this case I would have to go for the BOC, because it has more history

Bank of China for me - simply a fantastic building.

I do like IFC2 (especially the crown: it reminds me of those worms in the movie Dune, that 'erupt' out of the desert ground), but it's much less unique: there are already too many quite similar scrapers around, whereas the BOC is perhaps often copied (or parts of it), but never equalled let alone surpassed.

Taller doesn't always mean better, unless you have a small dick

I would have rather thought it as a leech, as the top fingers are like leech teeth that protrude and clamp into your skin. It's a great Pelli designed super-tall however...

....it's The Bank of China Tower for me; an IM Pei designed modern masterpiece for Hong Kong. A very clever design. Not enough pics of it above, only 1 LOL...so:

Bank of China. It's unique. The IFC looks too similar to other Pelli works like the Bank of America in Charlotte.

So you see IFC II is much taller than Bank of China. In the photo that's exaggerated a bit because of IFC II's closer position. (So, imagine how tall Taipei 101 is!)

I still don't know why BOC is so well liked. It's out of proprtion in an ugly way. I've always like IFC, both 1 and 2, so my vote is for IFC2

Good point. The proportion is really awkward. I prefer another equal-sized "box" instead.
