I love flash mobs, and I love NZ, and I (sort of) learned to do the Haka when I was there, so this video for me is epic!

I don't mind the haka, but I hate the Haka™. By which I mean the choreographed and stage-managed version performed by the New Zealand team before a match (throat-slitting gesture or no throat-slitting gesture), which the opposing team are supposed to stand and watch since ignoring it, responding to it or doing anything bar standing in meek deference is seen as "disrespecting the haka" and therefore strictly taboo.

I don't see anything wrong with it personally, in fact I love seeing it, even more so now after learning the words, (well, one of the versions anyway), the meaning behind it and having participated in it with some maori bros; the haka is supposed to be choreographed to a certain extent as it's a group dance, and I don't see any problem with it being used in Rugby, it creates a great spectacle, allows people from all over the world to see this great part of NZ culture and stirs up a nice sense of rivalry with whatever team is facing it.

I agree that it does seem wierd that the opponents are just meant to stand there watching, but I like the tradition behind it and seeing them stare down eachother, you don't get it in any other sport and it'd be a real shame if it was taken away.

If they are allowed to do the haka then other teams should be able to counter it in whatever way they want. The opposing teams could just all stand with their cocks out when they do it.
