http://www.djc.com/news/re/12047405.html?cgi=yes. Given the location l'm wondering if these could be under the new zoning regulations for the area. I hope it is part of the bel-red corridor redevelopment. I really can't wait to see that area fill in with 125'-185' buildings.

It's right behind the old Uwajimaya. I think it used to be a nursery. I would call that neighborhood Overlake, not "north of Crossroads," but maybe I'm missing something.

There's already a new building with a more urban format: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=2070+...,70.1,,0,-18.5

The TOD apartments are also in that area.

You can find some pretty good dual-skyline (Seattle and Bellevue) views around there.

Yes that was a nursery. Originally I thought they were going to construct a senior housing project there but that was a few years back. Those units facing west will have a great view.

TOD with 1.33 parking spots per unit... oh well, hopefully that's for trips to the grocery store.

A lot of good stuff there! I don't like the fact that the Lincoln Square expansion is including another 400,000 square feet of retail, with retail so concentrated around that one intersection it'll be hard for any real neighborhoods to develop in the rest of Bellevue. I like that statement from Kevin Wallace that people are starting to want to live closer to work, though; maybe then Bellevue can start developing some real urbanity!

I don't think any other part of Bellevue is aiming to have the kind of retailers that Kemper draws though. I expect at least a 1/5 of that new space will be upscale restaurants/lounges and the remaining will likely be broken out into large spaces to accommodate retailers such as Uniqlo, Zara, H&M,etc. Those retailers have had an interest in the Bellevue market but Bellevue Square lacks spaces large enough for them.

Heck, I'd drive to Bellevue for Zara.
