It's from SE 7th in the Vue Crest neighborhood which is SW of downtown Bellevue. This particular spot is a quiet residential street so keep it a secret!

Dang! It's been quiet around here. Here's a little nugget.

Skybridge design and location approved

Bellevue
The Bellevue City Council on Tuesday approved a location and design for a new skybridge that will connect Lincoln Square and Bellevue Place.

The 177-foot, steel-and-glass bridge will extend across Northeast Eighth Street, connecting the second floors of both developments.

The bridge will be about 13 feet wide and appear similar to the bridge installed last fall between Lincoln Square and Bellevue Square.

The council must still approve a right-of-way permit and legal agreement before construction can start on the bridge. The council is scheduled to consider the permit and agreement Sept. 18.

I expect that this will help draw more foot traffic to the Bellevue Place, which is a nice little shopping area. I know that Kemper has one more planned for the building that is going onto the current safeway lot, which will connect with Bellevue Square as well.

Underhills Furniture comes to Bellevue in a big way
By Nicole Tsong

Seattle Times staff reporter

As if Bellevue didn't already own the Eastside shopping scene, now you can add Underhills Fine Wood Furniture to the city's plethora of options.

After six decades in business, the family-owned furniture company has opened its largest showroom at 620 106th Ave. N.E., Bellevue (425-635-9050), in the epicenter of the city's retail boom. At nearly 28,000 square feet, the store is almost double the size of the company's next-largest location in Lynnwood.

Greta Gustafson, director of advertising and marketing, said the company chose to open a store in Bellevue because its residents tend to stay in the city when they shop.

To prepare for the huge showroom, owner Tom Underhill expanded some of the furniture lines for the store and designed new ones. The store features traditional styles of living-room furniture, dining-room sets and bedroom furniture. The Bellevue store also sells more office furniture and has a children's section.

Though the store carries furniture suitable to spacious homes, prices are reasonable. Most dining sets sell for less than $1,000, said Gustafson.

Look for expanded lines like the Blackstone Collection, which features an espresso finish and more contemporary fixtures. For a traditional yet modern look, Underhills has a new line called French Classics, an update of the traditional Louie Philippe collection.

The store will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a no-sales-tax discount Oct. 1-8.

Tower cranes going up!

Today I noticed that they put the crane up for the Hines 333, and yesterday crane went up for the new Group Health Building. We still are waiting for one more crane for the Bellevue towers, and in a few months, we should also see the cranes for City Center II and Bravern(guessing 2 cranes for that project). Lots of action going on.

Lincoln Squares crane notched up a few more stories this weekend. Should continue to see alot of the steel going up.

I wish they would start on the Euro Tower soon, that should be a quick project.

Wow. I go on vacation, come back and nothings happened in here?

I noticed progress on the Eddie Bauer Tower. I'm going for a quick drive through downtown tomorrow morning. Unless anyone else has news?

Some more new pics....

Heres a few from my walk around downtown. My favorite is the new glass installation in the Lincoln Square. Enjoy!

Below is the hole that will be the new Bellevue Towers.

New glass installation in the Lincoln Sqaure

Lincoln Square tower (westin hotel and condos on top)

Lots of cranes visible here, only a few of the total amount downtown.

Some shots from the Bellevue Central Park area.

The new Bellevue Avalon (new safe way/condos) project

Bellevue '333' building, the work site is showing signs of alot of concrete pouring. They also are doing a cleanup of the original concrete and rebar from when the project was put on hold.

Again, all of these are expandable to the full view. Hope you enjoyed!

During my time in downtown today, I also noticed that work has started on phase II of Ashwood Commons and the site of the Ventana (a lowrise residential complex at 107th and Main where the Jasmine Thai restaurant used to be) has been fenced off.

Those are cool!!

It'll be nice for downtown to get some dimension instead of all lining up on 108th.

They've started putting the glass up on the lower floor of the Eddie Bauer Tauer.
