It was reported on the SSP forum that phase II of Washington Square has been changed from two 240 ft condo towers (which include a hotel and retail) to one 450 foot hotel/condo tower. This will be located at the NE corner of 106th and NE 8th (SW corner of the superblock). I can't wait to see a rendering.

They need to go higher then 450 ft! The skyline is going to start looking very flat with all of these buildings at the same hight. I guess it's good news though.

I saw it, I drove by 2 minutes after it crashed. I thought I saw someone in the crane. At that point police rushed to the scene and ordered the crowd to relocate away from the street. I was just leaving city hall when it fell down. It looks there was some casualties. Very sad situation.

news from the hearing examiner meeting relating to Bellevue condos:

Polygon is going to tear down the bellewoods apartments on 102th ave se and build on a 4 story condo community (40 units) that will intergrate with its existing community that is 90% pre sold and nearing completition....the renderings look fairly decent and they are going to improve the sidewalks and add alot of landscaping...this should be completed by 2nd quarter of 2008.

It looks like 305 Plaza is going to be a total loss. Maybe a taller building will go in there. In either case looks like 333 Hines is going to be really really delayed.

I was thinking the same thing about 305 palza, this could be a potential high rise......acording to the newspaper today, this will be a minor delay for the 333 tower....that is all speculation though...

EOP gets acquired for $36Billion....the M&A activity in the commercial real estate industry is very interesting lately....this should not have an impact on their city center expansion....

So is it confirmed that JC Penny is going to leave bel square? I haven't heard anything regarding that or the possibility of Saks moving in outside of this forum.

A three-pronged rumor a while back in this very forum. That Neiman would be coming, Google would take major office space, and that JCP would yield to Saks. Too lazy to go back and find the quote.
