![]() They didn't build the one at Eastside because, well, they've already got one. I think we'll have to agree to differ on the BT tower.

Got to be Liverpool for me. It's not because it's got the most transatlantic skyline, cos it hasn't at the moment. But I love the fact that you can look at the buildings that make up the skyline, and they're all great - both cathedrals, st john's beacon, the beethams, royal liver. Being able to take in the mersey in the forground is great as well.

CIS better than our Beetham? Begone child! It's a lift shaft with an office block lower than our Alpha stuck to the side of it. At least City Tower has credibility about it but looks as shit as any Brum bldg of the 60s too.

omg why!? HCT is a nice modern glass tower! CIS is an ugly old tower (granted it looks much better with the reclad, but its still ugly). Tbh most 60s and 70s towers are!

CIS is a nice old glass and concrete tower with far more asthetic and architectural merit than anything HCT has to offer. Even CIS's lighting scheme craps all over HCT's... |

Well, cant say I know the lighting schemes- admittedly its nicer now its been reclad, but to start with, who on earth decided to put an ugly concrete lift shaft outside the tower! Its bad enough being there during construction!

You really do spout the most amazing unsubstantiated bollocks don't you son. At least visit a city before making sweeing statements like that. Hyatt is a very cool hotel - something Manchester only just caught up with (Lowry)that oozes class and Alpha and Rotunda at least have a design ethos that didn't include "something boxy with a lift shaft stuck on the side".

I'd say CIS is a hundred times better now than it was. It was an ugly old thing but them new solar panels look good.

The CIS can cis my arse! It's a right minger. It makes the Orion building look good.
As for the reclad, it is really, really bad. Surely they saw what we did to the BT tower here in Birmingham? Transforming it from a nasty old looking tower to a modern masterpiece! If so, why couldn't they do the same to this hideous structure? |

http://www.accura.co.uk/ I couldn't believe that it was the name of a West Midlands company. |

There's not exactly strong competition between 60s towers in this country- they're all as ugly as each other.
