Ah right, fair enough.

Yeah my dad says it was his best season watching the Blades. My neighbour (an Owl) also says his best season watching Wednesday was when you were in League One (Division Two) a few years back. It must be the big fish in a small pond thing...

it was right up there with the best Joz, though I was a bit young to fully appreciate it.

Hand on heart I'm really glad we've visited all 4 divisions. I've been with my club to almost 90 football league grounds. And given that none of us are really going to see our clubs shake the football world, that's what being a football fan is all about. That and provising humour to the clearly incredibly dull lives of people like Owlingmad.

89-90 has to rank highly with Blades. United go up 2nd behinds leeds, and Wendy come down

Leicester away has o be the most memorable away fixture ever. Swapping places with Wendy on the same day, after an absence of about 15 years.

Yep, April 1976 we beat the mighty Southend United in the last game of the season to avoid the drop to the (then) 4th division.

Was that the match with sporadic pitch invasions after every United goal, with the announcer pleading for everyone get get off the pitch?!

that's the one. And I was one of the "bad lads" that were on the pitch every 5 minutes.

I made an (on pitch) appearance on MOTD if memory serves. In those days (pre premier), MOTD covered all 4 divisions. I'm visible in the United series video clips. Fame was short and sweet, LOL.

Hallam FM announced United have sold 18,000 season tickets today.
Thats good going if true to have already sold that amount.
We had 19-20k last season.

Wednesday have sold 7,500 on last count, but apparantly do seem to get alot of individual ticketers as they only had 11,000 season ticket holders last yr.

Also SkySports have said we are in talks with Lupoli to sign permanently. I reckon a decent signing for about something like 500k or so not sure how much worth really.

I'd rather get Halford than Lupoli (of course) and although Lupoli seemed to do well in the games he was involved in, I don't think we know enough about him to make that kind of outlay. Given that we have Henderson, Sharp, Ward et al, do we need Lupoli?

Wednesday have appointed Inner Circle Sports LLS to help attract US investment into the club today.

Richard Hinds has signed a two year contract extension.

Season tickets sales now stand at 9,000+ after just 41 days of sales, with 2 weeks to go untill the first deadline.

I suspect there's about £15,000 per week difference in the two, so although most would agree in terms of wanting Halford more, we "can't pay 'em in washers".

Inner Circle Sports LLS sorted out the takeover deals for Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Good season tickets sales so far, I think we will get to 16,500 no problem.

I can't see the takeover bid being a success. Wednesday's couldn't get anyone to invest before the current climate. So who'll pay £20m for them now? Look at Newcastle, no one will touch them.

People will touch us, trust me.

Low price, can easily have their shares and profits raised through minor investment/common sense.

We are a good club to invest in, and the fact other unknown English clubs have been snubbed by Inner Circle Sports is large sign Wednesday have done well to get them. They will have numerous interested parties with them already looking for deals, Wednesday might suit their existing or new clients.

There was at least one bid which would have gone through had it not been for bizarre FA regulations about future investment in other clubs.

It'll happen one day, even the bank - the Co-Op think it will.

Low price - but with large debts and in the second tier of English football. Hardly the most exciting proposition to an investor when the money is tight.

If we weren't facing economic difficulties, then yeah, i'd say that it Wednesday's could gain some investment. But i think its highly unlikely now. Especially at the levels you're all thinking.

Jozblade - We all know Wednesday have debts but they are not an issue when it comes to investment. Nor are they an issue now. ,Much of it is parked debt and its managed well.

Inner Cirlce Sports is one of the best investment firms for sport. Jealous much?

"They (Inner Circle] don't take deals on that harm their brand.

"This has been done brilliantly. If this doesn't land a result to the best possible investor through the best possible intermediaries, then good luck to any foootball club."

Strafford says that Wednesday are privileged because the American bank have turned down most approaches to aid English clubs - but they see the Owls as the having the right set-up and potential.

"They (Inner Circle] are seriously clued up," he added. "They have been hands-on at Liverpool and Sunderland, and they have looked at every other club who are trying to raise money and turned them down."

We are no less attractive to buy than united.
