The building is rising at a good clip now.

Went by the site yesterday. The glass looked great. Very clear from some angles- should provide some dramatic contrasts.

Nobody really cares. It will compliment the Ritz nicely and add bags of density.

I would say the tower is reserved - Certainly not boring - and the base looks great.

I'm not sure how you can say that nobody really cares about design. You may not, but it's very important to many people. Have a little respect for freedom of speech. People should be encouraged to air their views, good or bad. Disrespecting it, as you have done, is what was called the Soviet Union.

Would you like it if your voice was muffled?

So true! If you dissed a building in Sydney you'd be attacked incessantly.

You are right, but does that mean we have to lower ourselves to that level? This isn't grade school. We don't have to agree with him, but there are better ways of handling objection than ridicule. I'd rather ask him why he thinks that it is boring and uninspiring. Is everyone supposed to shut up if they don't like something? He may have valid points, he may not, but shooting down all criticism seems rather juvenile and counter productive.

Obviously, some people aren't capable of objectivity and may criticize a Toronto building because they want to criticize Toronto, but we can't assume that. People deserve the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise.

You're right. It just gets annoying that everything in Toronto is often over criticized by other people - I just wanted to defend your great city.
