I think its just about 250 meter hieght.
Its growing quitley among the other super talls on SZR.
It will certainly look distinguished and eye catching.
Another 80 meters to go!!

It's not even 240 meters tall. Hint: UP Tower just next is 243 meters.

I've forgotten how beautiful Big Ben was.
I doubt the Marriot Hotel will have so much detail at the top.

the more detail the better. you dont think that dubai will skimp out on a little detailing do you?

It will be an insanely cheap version. Although who knows, they might not even put the clock on top.

i dont think were asking for an exact replica, but some detailing would be nice. just a sloping roof to the top is kinda bland especially when your talking about Dubai. people expect the architects and builders to go all out. i wonder will there be an actual bell at the top?

Why should be any bell on top?

You do know what a bell symbolizes, don't you.

what kind of hotel , skyscraper is the one who has a bell on it`s top floors ?
sorry , but modern architecture from dubai can't assume the ideas from old cultures , even if they look incredible.
or ......only if it looks like empire state building from NY or the skyscrapers built in the 1920 or 1930 ,where are visible those kinds of details

personally , i can;t imagine Big Ben ,and it's details built from glass and steel

and why copy an existing ideea? aren;t they smart enough to present a realistic , viable and pleasant solution ??

yeah i read the whole thread and its discussion that its copying big ben. as i see it, if your gonna use a landmark for inspiration might as well go all out. dont copy it as an exact replica, but use the key elements. the bell is one of them.
