Very nice. The value of the dock spaces is probably exploding as we speak.

This is a very interesting pic that is not so often taken. This also leads me to think that often pilling and basements are often considered as out of the construction process by several members here. But imagine that the guys dig hole sometimes down to 80 mtrs below ground level so that the tower is stable and don't collapse.
Thanks you guys for taking pictures from this stage of construction... Anyway, the pictures here shows a test run on the piles where they try to rip the pilling collumn off the ground to validate ground stability and columns strenght as well. THey seem to use hydraulic jacks and huge beams to split the loads on several ground areas. We also saw on The BD thread at the very beginning of the construction that they did build a huge pile of rocks to test soil stability under weight constraint... Krys |

May have been to protect intellectual property. The construction industry is very cutthroat. I guess its a little like when auto companies cover their cars during road testing.

The direct sunlight will influence the reading of the very sensitive equipment (the heat effect). Something like the thermometer measures the temperature only on shadow.

I agree AltinD but the sheets themselves would trap an enormous amount of heat which I think would also influence the reading. It may simply be for protection from the sun as you said.

Piling almost complete.
Look at pic 4, a though job for those guys. Working a whole day with a jack-hammer. The first pic gives an impression of the size of this hole, look at the size of the workers. |
