I'm a little bit surprised how the golden/orange color idea came about on a silver/grey and blue tower. sure there was a render years ago that looked golden, but the cladding has been assigned years ago. this color fits elite residence much better to be honest.

but i'm glad this building will have lots of facade lighting since most others are just boring dark at night. it will be up to the owners association to make sure it is maintained properly!!

well, the beach part on the left with the pool and sun strechers is barasti beach club, which is free of charge. it has bars, and you can drink alcohol on the beach.

private, but as close to public as it gets in the lagoon. the public beach is towards the left over the bridge (not visible on this shot).

thank you for your explanation. The water will be the same, so I'll go to the public beach when I visit Dubai next February

The highest occupied floor stands at 356.9 m (1,171 ft). The architectural height is measured from the level of the lowest, significant, open-air, pedestrian entrance to the architectural top of the building, including spires, but not including antennae, signage, flag poles or other functional-technical equipment as defined by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). Building function: A single-function tall building is defined as one where 85% or more of its usable floor area is dedicated to a single usage. Thus a building with 90% office floor area would be said to be an "office" building, irrespective of other minor functions it may also contain.

Guinness World Records has officially recognised Tameer's Princess Tower as the world's tallest residential building, towering over the Dubai Marina skyline at 414 metres from base to tip.

The prestigious Dubai Marina development stands a staggering 107 storeys tall and encompasses six basement floors, one ground floor, 100 above-ground levels and 8 retail stores. The tower occupies a land area of 37,410 square feet, housing 763 luxury apartments, including one, two, three and four bedroom apartments in addition to penthouse apartments overlooking Palm Jumeirah.

"This is one instance when saying we feel on top of the world is completely justified," said Federico Tauber, President of Tameer. "This is a very proud moment for Tameer and for the city of Dubai, which now holds the twin distinction of being home to the world's tallest building and the world's tallest residential building."

Looks like Princess tower should keep that title for a few years too, unless Pentominium gets going again. If it doesn't then New York should get this title with one of the new resi's going up, but there still a few years off.

Pretty impressive having tallest building and tallest resi in the same place, imagine if they had the tallest office building as well!

Why CTBUH says 413.4 m at the top? The original architectural and structural drawings which I've seen, say 414 meters exact (some were even posted here).

Maybe the structure settling in during/after construction?

Tallest Hotel too ... which is about to be surpased by another Dubai tower(s) yet again soon, and then again after.

As for all office towers, is there any such category? Plus most of them are combined with hotels, so are mixed use actually. Not sure about Taipei101, maybe that's it.
