^well its too hot anyway so shade will be nice and people with no views will have cheap units, so they get to live in an otherwise prestige apartment tower for alot cheaper then adjacent units that have views.

Yes, Le Reve is the most exclusive tower in Marina with other celebrities and/or royalties owning apartments there. In most cases these guys have spent more money on (re)furbishing the place then for buying it.

Of course that $15M apartment might have been originally bought for 1/3 of that amount.

I think the prices are very cheap.
In Berlin you pay for a flat in an old building (renovated) even up to 400.000€......for 110m²

One thing of note from the 2-bedroom Flat No 5 floorplan...
What is marked as the "Main Bedroom" (470 x 360) is actually smaller than the other bedroom (550 x 360).
Apartments are always a compromise, in this case a smaller room but with an ensuite.

Yes, but what about the people who paid top dollar for apartments in the adjacent tower who had a wonderful view looking NE which will soon be completely blocked by Princess Tower. Where is THEIR discount? And, more importantly, where is their PRIVACY?

If anything utterly sucks about Dubai, it's urban planning. I say this as someone who has lived in Dubai and I have visited or lived in Singapore, Vancouver, Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, Casablanca, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, Miami, Beirut, Damascus, Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, to name a few. Dubai is the BEST city in the world when it comes to skyscrapers, but the WORST city in the world when it comes to urban planning.

I just don't get it. Why build so dense, when you have so much land. Not even Singapore, one of the most densely populated countries in the world, crams its buildings together like Dubai. I hope this cheap trend will come to an end.

Here is my solution for Dubai:

By simply rotating the buildings 45 degrees, you ensure that everyone has a view. It takes the exact same amount of space, so it certainly wouldn't be less economical. In fact, by ensuring everyone has a view, you are maximizing the value of ALL the apartments. Therefore, rotating the structures as illustrated would actually increase the value of the property overall, thus enhancing economic feasibility. Let me know what you think!

^the number one rule in a city is NEVER buy a unit for views!
we have this all the time in sydney. people get pissed after the realise that a new towr willr ise up to block there views. we tell them here at council to look at city plan to see what could be built around them. surley people in towers near princess tower would realise there was potential for a very tall building.
