That's my guess, too. A bit sad that the supertall Torch stands in the shadow of Princess Tower now, seen from the sea side.

Dubai's skyline is densing up. It used to be a building here and there, but it is growing up very nicely.

Now started: floor 93 up to 345.1 m
And lower formwork has also moved up, so that the "legendary" technical floor 79 is visible now. Next floor should be a bit narrower, so I wonder why there hasn't been a reconfiguration of the big formwork.

Yes sort of... the other +340m towers have at least one side that's wider. But PT is not the thinnest around, and more Marina giants will have a height-width-ratio of 10 or more in the end, too: Marina 101, 23 Marina and Pentominium of course.

I've spoke to Tameer today. The expected completion date is August 2011. They say currently construction and internal work is slightly ahead schedule - so it might be a couple of weeks earlier.

Though I'd say you usually get unexpected stuff happening (e.g. dome being more difficult than anticipated, or issues with technical equipment) - so my personal expecation is August/September 2010.

Tameer also said that some of the finishing elements (bathrooms, kitchens, etc) is not decided yet and they're currently in the screening process of different supliers. I hope they're not going to go for the 60's look as we seen in a couple of pictures from MAG218.

By the way: my personal experience with the Tameer customer service and contact has been great so far. In these forums you often read complaints about that. Just wanted to share that this is not always the case. I got friendly and quick responses to all of my inquiries so far. Hope this continues...

He was actually speaking for structural completing, but even that is unrealistic. I doub't they will complete the exteriours before the end of the year.
