Where exactly is the setback? And how many more core floors will there be before the crown?

Blue Flame, this should answer your question. Pics previously posted by AltinD.
I think we can currently see the 79th floor. 80th is suppoed to be penthouse section with setback, which I believe they are currently working on. Cant wait for construction to move up one or two floor so that we can see it.

Wow, the core is almost topped out. Not too long more now.

For some reason, I always thought floor 97 was the praying floor.

Time for an update... I dug in gerald's recent gigapixel pano, made snapshots and put them together...

Princess Tower core framework is still at floor 93-94 / 348.8 m or a little bit more.
Yet no new floorplate above service floor visible, guess the expected changes there need time.

29/March/2010, taken from the original panorama by gerald d.:

28m to go for core topping at 377m. the top 2 floors (98/99) are enormously high at 6.3m or 22ft each.while floor 96/97 are 6m.

Yeah, this thing is a monster! It is almost unfathomable that the core still has that much farther to go before the dome even starts!

By the way, thank you for the diagram for the top of the building. And yes, that did answer my question!

when i was a kid, amoco bldg or standard oil (now AON) was a strikingly tall bldg in chicago. (346m)
one of the worlds tallest!
princess tower is already higher then it.

Lol I built Aon building as a paper model, it's really ugly, sort of like the Index.

I believe the correct term for the Aon Center would be 'tastefully bland.'

The Index could have avoided this classification if it had used better materials.

Yup, looks slow now. At least cranes are moving.
Maybe they've been missing Imre... now PT crew should speed up again
