why would you put the pool on the shadow side at the back and not on the beach rd side in the sun?

Because the architect/designer has never visited the site before or she/he had no idea how to design a swimming pool for a supertall

I'm a fan of good quality architecture. As I said before, I would love to visit Dubai and see it for myself but overall, it's not high on my list.

The architecture of the Tallest Block (and the Marina period) reminds me of a very very tall commie block. Each tower (sans Infinity Tower, Ocean Heights, and a few others who's names I can't think of) don't really complement each other at all. It looks as though no real effort was made to make each building stand out amongst the rest. Princess Tower is tall. But I don't think it's going to be a tower that will be regarded as one of the truly great skyscraper icons in Dubai. It won't be mentioned alongside Burj Khalifa or Burj Al Arab.

I like the older areas of Dubai. I want to sit somewhere dark and drink tea and eat Indian food and get the overall sense of the city. If I were to go to the new part of the city, I don't think I would get that feel. I sure don't want to fly more than halfway around the world to eat McDonald's at The Walk under 40 towers that look exactly the same.

Dubai really needs to improve the quality of it's skyscrapers.

why the pool in the back? clue is in the side view:

tower is standing out providing better views. the architects are not stupid. I'm also sure they would have liked to build the shiniest tower with the biggest pool ever using only the finest materials on the planet if they were given the resources. come on guy - let's give them more credit for they work. those guys are pulling off a 400+ meter tower here. talk to the construction crew about how many challenges they have to master every single day...

the best side of the pool would probably be facing the marina. regarding the sun I mean. However, there is the Emirates Crown tower (which by the way has the pool sea facing and rest assured Tameer were fully aware of that).

SA Boy should know very well that the sea-side is the WORST place to put the swimming pool, as far as sunshine is concerned, to start with.
