I've gone past cranes set up like these so many times, and always meant to get a picture.
Nice. |

Nice vantage point of the HUBs, still think the Uni should give them steel drums a good polish though!
![]() Click to enlarge Really like this shot of the water feature on Howard Street too ![]() Nice train shot through Sheffield station

not to my knowledge. i really don't like what they did with that area, it looks so rushed and temporary. the steps seem to be made from massive kerb stones and i'm sure the gravel is only there to act like a litter tray for post-leadmill vomitters.
i bet it won't be long before we see it given over to a block of flats. it's a shame if it happens though, it would be nice to see another quality green space there. |

The bits on top of the union dont spin round anymore do they, because I thought they were designed to turn with the wind? And as for that area outside, it just seems like a waste bit of land to me, I went past it today and it just looks odd, and like roneys said it seems rushed, and a bit random, loads of plants, them old things from fargate and then metal bars.
I also notice the water feature down Howard street isnt working, I saw some builder type people looking at it the other day, but its still not working. |

Howard water feature was at a trickle when I went down on Saturday.
What's this "Pin Ball Park"? Ain't it Spearmint Rhino's car park? I thought it was temporary - that they were just storing the old pots from Barker's Pool there until they got something better and/or re-used them elsewhere. A green space here would be a lovely idea, but what purpose would it serve? I'd have to say, green is probably more likely than flats, given it's location. But then CIQ is seeing a lot of flats...

That's a great picture of the Students Union Skyfits. We can criticise it but few if any universities have a cooler uni building.
