New proposal for Global Financial Building. 320m, 72 floors. Much more beautiful, but not too tall. It might be the final version.

Very glad to read that. C.Y. Lee one was very nice and 10m taller, but this one is soooo beautiful. Perfect facade!

the global financial building is great. when it's nottoo tall, a building like this is perfect. Not a superstandout (depending on location) but still much better than a filler.

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but I am very excited to have found it. I moved to Chongqing 1 year ago today and this city still amazes me. I have lived and traveled throughout Asia, but no other city compares to what I have seen, and what this forum confirms about Chongqing; there is no other city with projected growth quite like this.

It is quite an exciting time to be living in Chongqing. I will also update this forum with pictures as these projects move forward.

then why is there a gap like that?
even a piece of land after those staircases. it looks horrible. They should take the stair away, and let it be a 90 degree angle down from the side. or at least the land away, I hope thats jst for the ease of transportng materials for building the theatre, and will be removed right after.

that's the build of the land. Chongqing is basically very hilly, as well as bisected by its river. There's always been a huge trade in transporting luggage, people and supplies up and down the hills by an army of workers.

You can see the steepness of the land from older pics from the 1990s:

That is a fantastic picture of a BangBang Man from the past. Porters such as that are very unique to Chongqing. I actually just wrote an article in my blog about them. I promise to get some new pictures up soon. If you look at this map http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/macpolo/19617891.jpg My house is between #23 and #9 and I work in #13, so I am right in the the heart of all these buildings.
