i always love when you share pics from st martins tower, cul :-D

anyway good to see another core rise. i figure roof height will almost touch the top of that first photo. should look fantastic when the rest of the tower clears the roof of the hilton hotel!

Yesterday, walking south along Pitt Street:

View from King Street along Pitt Street Mall.

Same again from a slightly different angle.

From Pitt Street Mall.

A bit later, on Castlereagh Street, still heading south.

From just south of Park Street, just as the rain came down.

Further south near Bathurst Street - still raining.

Nice photos.

It definitely looks the best walking down Pitt Street. Can't wait to see the southern side get some cladding.

I think William Street from Kings Cross will still have the most commanding viewpoint for the tower, but have been impressed with its sheer dominance on Pitt Street.

You can see the beginnings of the cladding on the south façade in the last 2 pics I posted above, though the rain is distorting the colour a bit.

Yeah, what renovations are being done on it? They've had cranes on it for months...

Should just knock it down, it's a disgusting building.

It is a good example of Brutalism of the 1970s but clearly not to everyone's taste. It does need a thorough cleanup of its exterior, but the cranes were related to major internal renovations.

If they knock it down it would have to be a shorter building due to height restrictions so it probably wont happen...

Oxford Street might have a view or 2.

I'll take it. It's close enough (just) to Hyde Park to be sold as 'sky-living' IMO. We'd then have apartments NSEW too.

I walked along Oxford just yesterday and IMO it is far more commanding from William.
