I still can't fathom how big this thing is! It looks HUGE. It looks almost a little bit too wide.. Maybe I just need to be a bit more patient and wait to see how it all turns out.. Thoughts?

If you think this building is big, you will freak out with Barangaroo.

\163castle is 60m/200ft at its widest point.
quite big for a 200m skyscraper.
barangaroo towers will be 90m/300ft wide.

How about City Square in Perth? Just for comparison?

I love the first pic showing that there are cranes back on the Sydney Skyline.

Its all to do with positioning of the tower which is turned to face the harbour to maximise the harbour views, a very novel idea of the architect.

BHP= 72mx 25m.

Oh mama.

Are we realistically going to see much of Kent St from the West when these beasts go up? I know they're orientated slightly differently but still! It's so out of characteristic for Sydney to build that way in regards to height. Usually short is at the front and it gets higher toward the centre (perhaps excluding Macquarie St to an extent). Any possibility it might open up taller development behind the Bangas? Of course height limits will dictate, but I could see them being lifted in this instance...

Sorry bit off-topic.

01 April 2012

Rainy afternoon in Sydney!

Looking sharp towering over Pitt St Mall.

By eastsidehighrise at 2012-04-01

We are now at L39 in the main corebox! I think it will reach the roof by the end of the month or early in May.

Looks so good! It's still got more of a way to come and that view from Pitt St is only going to get better! Can't believe it's going to be up to the roof of Citigroup.

Question - that light blue cladding on the left. What is it exactly? Forgive my lack of knowledge! Is that the final colour? How much of the building will be covered with the sexy blue glass on the right?

thanks for diagram update cul

i am loving all the new glass along this part of Pitt St. first there was MidCity Centre, then JP Morgan tower and the new Westfield Sydney, and now ANZ centre.

with 10 office floors to go i want to get an impression of what it will look look in terms of massing:

ah, the more I see of the sides and the back, the more I wish there weren't fins/sunshades on the front! A sheer glass wall would've been amazing!
