Oh forget that man. I would rather see two 2-IFCs there or the WTC2

i would love a new bulding to be built at the site. however, i do not like freedom tower's design. i like the older version though.

so, if it is the old freedom tower vs twin towers, i would say freedom tower. but to answer the question of this thread, the new freedom tower vs twin towers, i will say twin towers

Shania Twains remark on the FT would be "That don't impress me much!"

WTC are legendary, but Freedom is designed better. My vote--Freedom.

It is deplorable, IMO, that the twins were not rebuilt. They could have rebuilt them and also built Freedom Tower and preserved NY's history.

I don't mean to turn this into a rebuild the Twins thread, but saying that FT should go there b/c it's something new, while the Twins are something old, isn't a good reason to justify it.

The Freedom Tower, because it represents a new era ..Twin towers is the past-they were definitely like a landmark for New York, however The Freedom Tower looks like a powerful building as well ready to establish itself on the New York skyline.

Honestly, I am okay with either design (though a little bit more partial to rebuilding the twins). I just want them to actually build SOMETHING! It has been 5 1/2 years and they have accomplished little more than dig a big hole and have some concrete and metal in the ground. With all due respect to the victims of the terrorist attacks, I feel that it is adding insult to a very painful injury that we still have not even really gotten construction underway on ANYTHING.

As for the name, I don't really like "freedom tower" either. But it could be worse: the naming rights could be sold to some random company so we end up with something like the "Starbucks Tower" or the "Wal-Mart Tower".

Freedom Tower, a second World Trade Center might not seem that appropriate and a bit 'spooky'.
