Congrats man.... when is your orientation week? You don't have to worry abt crime too much... just take the extra precaution. Nothing happen to me in the five years I was there, and nothing to my group of friends as well...

The nearest town centre (abt 5-10mins drive) is in Taman U, which has a small Jusco... Students get discounts on food and other things in Taman U shops... You get almost everything under the sun there except a cinema (which you have to go down to JB city/ other areas)...

FAB is quite strategically located in the core area of UTM, so library and most facilities are near...Which kolej (student hostel) have they given you?

The qualifications are known as PAM Part 1, 2 and 3. The equivalent of this is RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects), AIA (American Institute of Architects) and RAIA (Royal Australian Institute of Architects).

By studying for 5 years...i'll get PAM part 1 and 2 while Part 3 can only be obtained after practicing as an architect for a minimum of 2 years and fulfilling all the project requirements set by LAM. Fulfilling these needs, the architect will then submit themselves to a series of interviews and exams to determine that they are capable and absolutely qualified. These exams are conducted by PAM

When I was there two years ago, they had wi-fi for some of the new hostels... but I think the plan was to make it for all hostels. Still, all faculties have computer labs, and the biggest one is obviously in the Computer Science faculty, opened to all UTM students. There are 15 or 16 residential colleges, ranging from older bungalow-style ones to new 10 storey blocks. Its quite odd that they didn't state your hostel on your offer letter... because that is where you usually register on your first day....

Anyway, JB is about 30-45 minutes drive/ bus ride, depending on traffic. Are you going to get a car?

Hey TYW, which course and uni are you going to?
