Interestingly Hong Kong based developer Chun Wo (http://www.chunwo.com/) announced in November that its plot on AMI was being held as a "long term project". Basically putting it into its land bank for development in 5, 10 etc years time.

Good. It looks like any meaningful development of AMI is many years away. No progress re Real Madrid is another indicator of no investor interest. Such a shame as AMI should have been fantastic but the poor project structure and management planning have sunk it. www.almarjanislandrak.com #1 google search

We are all entitled to our opinion and you may think that by adding "sound bites" to various threads that this may deflect from the serious issues for investors in RAK. It won't so you knock yourself out. If you have anything structured or informative to add then I'm sure we will be all ears. www.almarjanislandrak.com #1 google search

Tanglewood,,, please don't aggravate him.... he would do/say anything to prove you wrong and it seems he has a lot of free time which we don't have
I wouldnt be surprised if he personally sets the island on fire to prove himself right

You make it sound like none of us have been waiting since 2008 for something that we have paid for. Well after 5 years of knobs saying it will be fine maybe we should be a little pessimistic. Anyway as there are so few people left on this forum my going will be no loss to anyone. I hope you are right as all along I was hoping I was wrong. I will retreat to my website which is doing remarkably well leaving you to update the site with the next Al Marjan good news story. www.almarjanislandrak.com say yes to RAK - not on your nelly!!

Some good pictures on this thread re Real Madrid. It's such a shame as the island looks so wonderful reminding me why I invested in the first place. |

Hello all,
stumbled across your posts. I go and live in Bab Al Bahr every 3 months and fish all over the island edges. Bab Al Bahr is finished. Al Hamra (was called RAKEEN) now runs most things unfortunately and are crap. But Rixo hotels took over half of BAB and are building a 4 star hotel there with restaurants and night clubs etc. Hilton hotel on Al Marjan is almost 100% finished. Another hotel is opening up too, Binyan Hotel I think. Problem is private hotel owners are building quickly and bring outside expertise. The old Hoya Bay office is still closed and private developments do not seem to have moved for 2 years when ever I walk past them on a late night fishing spree ( I should not be there really). They can not leave the developments frozen for ever as Real Madrid along with the Sheikh of RAK are trying to build the world's first Beach stadium on Al Marjan Island. This was inaugerated last year and has started development. Good luck to you all and hope you somehow get something. Rgds |
