Whoa !! That's so beautiful !

What I like, is the greenery between the residental skyscrapers. It's not too dense. Good city concepts.

@zOrg: Did you have more information or renders about this project ?

I've been incredibly lazy with my camera of late, (I promise that when I have some time in winter I'm going to do some huge photo updates of Tianjin), but here is a development that I don't think anyone has talked about in awhile that people might find interesting:

I'm not 100% sure on the location, except that it is very close to downtown, near the train station, (I believe that 南站 refers to an old bus station nearby). I believe it is very close to starting, if it hasn't already.

This city is just starting to explode with growth. Too much, in fact. A shocking amount of big, fancy apartments are being built and I don't know if there are enough buyers to sustain them. The housing market could be in for a real shock sometime in the next two or three years.

Speaking of which, here is a pic of some under construction in Tanggu/TEDA:

The best one has to be Tianjin World Trade Center. I really want to see that one go up.

The condo towers being built look like they'll be about 30-35 stories, which would make them some of the tallest under construction in TEDA at the moment, (the 300+ meter office proposals you're looking at probably won't get off the ground for a while).

As to the Tianjin World Trade Center, I'm sorry to disappoint The Big O, but I don't think it's going to happen. Virtually nothing has happened since that construction pic on the first page, (which I took around two years ago), and the structure looks like it is starting to decay. I don't know what they're planning to do with it, and there might be some complications with tearing it down, because the subway is running right below. However, the area is a prime target for development, so hopefully before long something will get proposed there, or they'll find a way to salvage the structure already in place.

Do you have any info about the 430m twin towers supposed to be approved?

Wait, I just realized you were talking about that proposal, not the condos under construction. I can't really find any hard information on sizes, except that the top 4 buildings are supposed to be 70 stories tall, so I'd count on a height of around 250-300 meters.

If I remember correctly, the twin towers were listed on a website as "under construction", although I can't find a corresponding construction site where those models were placed. It does look like they're clearing buildings around there, so it may go up soon.

I will say, however, that this one:

... is under construction, as are massive complexes on both sides of this building, (although it isn't as far along as those two sites).

This building:

...has the construction site walled off, but I don't think they've started excavation on the foundation yet. Apparently they're still debating the height of this thing, or something about putting a spire on top.

@Clashman, the only image of Tianjin's 430m twin towers I've seen:

If you get another one, please post it

I also found this render, I don't know what is it.

That is the old render for the Nanzhan development that I talked about earlier.

Unfortunately, it looks a lot better than the current incarnation, IMO. Then again, the picture I have might not be final, either.

Frankly, I hope the one I have isn't the final one, because I don't see the point of blocking the best two towers by putting up another two 70 story boxes right in front of them. It doesn't make sense. However, this is what they are advertising on the light-rail right now, so my guess is that it should be pretty current.
