Yes, Jai. Aliensgroup is pursuing the project aggressively. Bookings are open.
Looks like they are working/reviewing on the plans and renderings
Here are some early feelers (flash play)...

cool. just for a recap:
APIIC has given the final nod to the 100+ storey building in Manchirevula.
One of the two shortlisted bidders who applied for RFP ( 1 Indian, 1 Isreali) will be selected soon.
Obtaining Municipal and Fire clearances will be only a formality.
Construction would start in July 2007 and expected to be completed in 3 years ...
This would be surrounded by several 10, 20 and 30 storey buildings in the 100 acre site...

The finalists:
(1) A consortium of Reliance Energy and Shoba Developers of Bangalore
(2) The real estate wing of Israel-based Elbit Medical Imaging (Elbit bid on its own, Indu Projects, a local developer, will join it in executing the project).

certainly looks alien

not sure it necessarily looks good.

The pictures seem to be pre-renderings anyway. We'll see how it turns out.

Babji

Looks like you beat me to it. lol. Here's another rendering of what the residential apartments in the project will look like according to some realty websites:

Its a shame they are just scraping the minimum floor count for a skyscraper in that zone. Oh well I suppose its a start, a base line of 30 floors aint bad

HUDA Bracing For Projects Along ORR

With the work on first phase of Outer Ring Road (ORR) and International Airport progressing at a brisk pace, the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is getting ready to launch three major projects along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and in proximity of International Airport this year. HUDA had actually planned for six projects near Poppalguda, Budvel, Shamshabad, Jawaharnagar, Kokapet and Ameenpur for different sectors like IT, ITES, healthcare, hotels and NRIs and high net worth individuals/companies.

Of them, three projects near Shamshabad, Budvel and Ameenpur in Medak would be taken up during this financial year and an announcement is expected in a week's time.

Hotel corridor

The 150-acre layout at Shamshabad, close to the International Airport, `Regal Broadway', was earmarked for creating a hotel corridor with star and budget hotels. The layout close to the financial district, HUDA's Golden Mile and 60-storey Twin Towers, would have large sized plots that would be auctioned. Medi City to come up in 200 acres at Ameenpur in Medak would be developed for the healthcare industry. It would house medical institutes of national and international repute equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and would also have resorts with modern amenities promoting medical tourism and catering to prolonged ailments and treatments.

I have this before. Hyd will not be able to fill the 100-F tower to the top. Only city in India that can is most probably capable of filling Supertall Tower to the 100th floor is Mumbai alone & not even Delhi. Hyd is just not ready for it.

Mumbai (the capital of skycrapers in India) still does not have a tower above 60 floors yet....although some towers are under construction.

Anything above 70 floors is yet to be seen built anywhere in India, whether in Hyderabad or Mumbai - Delhi.

Watch this space!

Yes, I totally agree with you. I am seeing many renderings of skyscraper projects proposed to be built in Hyderabad from various promoters. I don't know the basis for creating huge spaces when the economic activities does not warrant such construction in Hyderabad. In case if they do construct with the misplaced optimism of marketing the space profitably then they are sadly going wrong.Well the tall structures mostly empty will be used to play hide and seek.i

As of date, perhaps there is a lil bit of wait-n-see in the minds of real estate investors. Come 2008, this is going to change in a big way. HIAL, ORR phase-I, strengthened IRR, Elevated Expressway, BRTS w-i-p, MRTS w-i-p - all this is gonna change the picture.

I would imagine, extending the MRTS and/or MMTS btn HITEC City and Falaknuma in the next 3-5 years to connect Lanco Hills and APIIC Towers with the rest of the City. Our twin sister-city Secbad is waking up too!.

Even if it takes 3 years from now, HYd is destined to see some of the India's tallest...

Mumbai ... financial capital
Bangalore ... IT capital of India
Chennai ... manufacturing capital of india

I hope Hyderabad, in attempt to dethrone these cities, doesn't end up being real estate capital of india! Hyderabad is too ambitious, only time will tell if all these efforts will bear any fruit!

There is no need for anyone to dethrone anyone else. There is enough room for everyone to grow. on a related note on growing economy, pl see the following news clip:

Govt plans massive airport expansion
Monday, May 28, 2007 (New Delhi):
... A study commissioned by the government says that by year 2020, 400 million passengers will be flying by air and airlines in India will be flying at least 1,000 aircraft, almost five times the number of aircraft in the country at present.

... The report also states that by 2020 India will need $30 billion investment in airports. Out of which $9 billion has already been committed. So government needs a further $21 billion.

... Hyderabad... will need a second airport...

Hyderabad has to attract more industries in the manufacturing sector. In the near future IT/ITES BPOs on which Hyderabad relies will shift or expand in tier2 cities in India and may be to other countries like SRILANKA ,BANGLADESH,PHILLIPINES,ISRAEL,IRELAND Or CHINA in view of economics and competitive pricing. under the circumstances building skyscrapers in Hyderabad is futile and wasteful exercise which may shatter the economy by such wrong steps.

Thats the height of speculation. There is no problem at all for atleast a decade or two. IT Boom is not just a bomb blast to just explode a moment. There is a huge demand. And all the companies rely on hyderabad and thats the reason they have set up their campuses. Dont underestimate anything vaugely.
