WOW cheers 70 floors, I'm so happy that Burj Dubai is growing to fast, when saw this project for the first time I was so amazed and so happy that a projects of this magnitud are being built in the world, a thought that I would never see a skyscraper of 160 or higher but it seems that dreams are real and Burj Dubai is a big example of that.

Still hard to believe that this one will get three times higher than it actually is(when they build it to the minimum height of "only " 800m).I cant imagine what a skyscraper expierience this will be when you stand in front of it and look up.It will be something you will speak out and you cant cause it will take your breath nothing else than breathtaking.Nice tower and Dubai your projects arent tacky the best examples are the chelsea tower capricon emirates towers and the creek skyline buildings.Dubai will be the future city.

Burj rises floor by floor to the skies of Dubai

With the announcement earlier this week that the Burj Dubai has already reached 70 floors, the emirate’s latest mega-structure is quickly taking shape.

It is set to become the tallest building in the world with a height of around 800 metres – surpassing Taipei 101 – with the construction value reaching at a total of Dh73 billion.

“I can’t believe how quickly it’s taking shape,” said Dubai resident Peter Walters, who has lived here since last August. “It’s going to be amazing when the whole development around it is finished. I’m not sure I’d like to go to the top though, I’m not really a big fan of heights.” An Emaar spokesman said with the current height of 200m the Burj has already dwarfed London’s Big Ben.

Mark Amirault, Emaar’s senior director of development, has previously confirmed that Burj Dubai will become the tallest building in the world.

“And as there are similar projects going on elsewhere, we plan to take stock of the situation at the 140th or 150th floor, and then decide how high we are going,”
he said.

Then, if you are in charge of a possible competitor, all you have to do is wait for the point of no-return of BD and announce your plans.

Bullshit is what I say, it's just a marketing gimmick.
If they do extend the height it'd just make the thing look stupid.
