You can't believe everything you read and see.

There is only about 1/4th as much building capacity in the current picture verses the projected picture that some one has suggested will become real in 10 years. That implies the city's population is doubling every 5 years. But, if you research "Dubai poplation growth" on the web, no one is projecting that kind of population growth. Maybe this is Dubai in 20 years?

malec's render is accurate and based on the plot maps released by dubai properties and dubai municipality... the plots are already on sale and many have already started constructing their towers... this skyline will look like what malec shows within a decade... population growth or no population growth

This is massive development in a span of 10 years and all I can say is that I'm speechless

I guess what he meant was that there is no such huge demand?

Probably you are right, although they are asking a very reasonable price.

As Krazy said, that image is based on the released masterplans of the projects in that area. The white towers are all ones that have been released including the 2 tall ones, the others then are either unreleased or I just haven't drawn them.

Thing is, my map has a few sections that are shown in the masterplan but not on the plot maps. The developers of business bay have said it will be built in 3 phases so maybe the plot map is actually only phase 1.

The plot map:

The full masterplan.

It is possible of course that say, after half the towers have been released that they'll become harder and harder to sell, and also rising construction costs could cause a few developers to go bust. That means that business bay could be left with a few parking lots around the place, however eventually they should all be filled up.

Wow growing at a phenominal rate. Looks awesome. So much other construction as well, though i can't help but wonder who is going to fill all of those new buildings when they're constructed.

Simply amazing pics. Wonderful.
What seems suprising is that one of the sides has had it's 2nd setback now... it's down to only "1" vertical concrete wall rising now. Of course it won't look as narrow when all the tips rise - but the floor area's been reduced significantly for those on that side.

The "nose" elevation is not finished on this wing:

1st wing nose > 19 floors before setback,
2nd wing nose > 26 floors,
3rd wing nose > 34 floors, and on this one you cant count only 19f completed, that's why.
