Although we use to say that the Tagus mouth is in Lisbon, actually it is near Lisbon...
In Portuguese we call it Rio (river) Tejo (Tagus). Tagus is an ancient Latin name for the river!

It would require a massive urban redevelopment project. In my project, Terminus placed on north (west of the Interchange with current LRT), 9 km northwest of the city center.

That's a fantastic map. Very stylish; you have a great eye for aesthetics.

This so far has been 3 years in the making, and is only now more finished than it is incomplete. The aim was to create a large island network, for a country that has a population of about 250 million, and to make it look as realistic as possible.

Here is the whole island (the island to the south east is far less complete. The large gaps towards the east of the main island are mountain ranges)...

Here is zoomed in on the most westerly peninsula - notice I have used the bueker.net colour coding for the railway lines...

And a super close up of the city Sofia (named after my friend Sofia) to show the level of detail that the entire map of the island contains

And here is an image showing most of the entire island's passenger train service patterns, colour coded by operator, and astonishingly and unintentionally it looks like a scary rabbit from a nightmare in Watership Down.

As of mid September, 2012; the Lewell Rd branch of Line 8 has been separated into its own shuttle line, which runs on new tracks between Swift Rd and Nevergold Transit Center. This is due to lower ridership on this segment. There is also a new western station, Belleville-Lewell. In addition, the Line 8 extension to Babylon opened on August 25, 2012.

I'm currently having problems uploading my new map to ImageShack, so it will have to wait a few days...sorry...

In the meantime, I've provided my Photobucket Thumbnail.

Current plans for Baghdad envisage two lines: I think we can do ten plus one and say goodbye to nearly all congestion:

An MS Paint job while hungover! It's not quite finished, but I'll share it anyway. In grey is the existing heavy rail network around Glasgow, in blue is a very possible extension via a disused railway line through the city. In green is a very fanciful twin bored tunnel route under the city, linking the Southern General hospital with the Royal Infirmary at Cathedral. This sort of extension, coupled with the introduction of Berlin S-Bahn type trains, would completely transform rail travel in Glasgow!
